I'm already seeing teams shut down with the Covids. Down and out for 14 days.
With the football teams, it might wipe out 1-2 games. Maybe three in extreme cases. With basketball, if you are out three weeks, that could be easily 6 games down the drain.
Will they even finish? If so and they get to the tournament, how many teams will get wiped out during tournament play? What domino effect will that cause if one team gets a couple of cases after a loss, then wipes out their opponent that just beat them. Due to "contact tracing".
I know the tournament will be played in somewhat of a bubble. But that's still dicey. They are still going to be in their own hotel rooms. Off property. In various locations.
This could get real interesting. Football is marching on. Even though it's been a shit show. Basketball could be much worse. With the indoor games and more travel.
